BIO I create sculptural objects. Deconstructing and reconstructing objects to enhance the environment we live in . I transform the ordinary and mundane post-consumer waste of our culture into thought provoking objects of beauty.In my work, I do steel fabrication and found object sculpture. With this, I have been supporting myself for the last 10 years. public arts : I helped design, fabricate and install "Kermudgeon", a 30' tall kinetic sculpture underwritten by a grant from the 2007 Coachella Music and Art Festival in Palm Springs with Michael Taluc and our team. We also installed it at the Emergensee Festival in Salem, OR and for the opening of the Contemporary Art and Craft Museum in downtown Portland · For the last 5 years I have worked on the creation of many large scale kinetic sculptures with Michael Taluc, Todji Kurtzman at the Burningman. Many of our sculptures involve large scale interactive elements of wind, fire, and human interaction. · I was selected to be on a design team, and build PSU's "Kows for Kids" sculpture project. Dissecting a fiberglass cow and turning it into a dynamic multimedia extravaganza conveying the road to enlightenment through education and introspection Professional Work: · I have worked with Kenneth Wright at Rocketworks metal design for the past 4 years. We have done every aspect of creative metal work ranging from commercial and residential architectural fabrication such as the "Apoteke" Modern European restaurant and bar. I worked at Clan Chattan foundry for 2 years with artist Ken Macintosh making cast bronze and steel fabricated sculptures. We built many public sculptures installed in the NW, including most of the sculptures on the Interstate MAX line in Portland OR, and the Native American Cultural Center in Portland.
